RFI Development Program

Armando was a critical figure for RFI in its beginnings. He helped to build our program and he developed some of our best players. He understands our values, philosophy and DNA like few others.

Through his coaching career Armando has helped players reach their potential at all levels including young players now currently playing in professional leagues in Portugal, Australia and Spain.

Josh is passionate about working with young players and has done a great job running zoom sessions to keep players connected and active during the lockdowns and COVID seasons. Josh is a key member of the football department and brings great energy and enthusiasm as a coach. He works closely supporting Armando and the coaches to deliver our program.

Carlos has experience coaching both juniors and seniors and brings a passion for football and developing young players. His Portuguese background is very much in line with our philosophy, and in a short time he has already demonstrated a strong dominion of the many values and principles that we have at RFI not just for coaching, but also in terms of the identity and the community that we are.

⚡ Wes has had a long history with RFI, having started as a coach with Carlos back in 2012. We welcome Wes' return after a “sabbatical” from RFI over the last two seasons.

🙌 Over the years Wes has been instrumental in helping RFI develop many talented goalkeepers. He played a key role in the development of goalies such as Christian Cogo, who is currently at Melbourne City, and Sam Mumford, who also played at Melbourne City and excelled as their Under 18 GK only at 14 years of age and has now made a transition to senior football in NPL at only 17 years of age.

🔝 As a qualified school teacher Wes brings a highly professional and holistic approach to his coaching. Regarded as one of the best GK developers in Melbourne, in addition to his coaching expertise Wes brings extensive knowledge as a player and coach amassing 468 senior games in the UK and Australia.
