Our own Michael Vonja has been selected to join the U16 National Talent Identification Camp
Being 1 out of the 28 players selected from all over Australia is a great recognition and learning opportunity as part of his development journey.
Before joining Melbourne City, Mikey was a part of our program and we greatly enjoyed working with him and his family. On top of being a part of a very successful team with which he went to Spain, Mikey worked closely with our specialist GK Coach, Wes Coles, who remembers:
“Michael came to us with a terrific appetite for learning. He quickly improved his footwork, agility and we worked on making every save important. His calmness on and off the ball is also a central quality Michael has after being exposed repeatedly to great environment conditions. Very proud to have helped in a small way!”
Congratulations Mikey!! We are proud of you, enjoy and make the most of this special opportunity!

We had a great weekend at the Bendigo Cup!
Participating in a weekend tournament is always a big opportunity to strength our culture and to enjoy with everyone who belongs to RFI.
The discipline of our players during the matches was remarkable and it's great to start to see our new players showing up this DNA too. Also parents demonstrated great behaviour and always stepping off the line. We are really proud of all the players, parents, families and coaches and the way they represent the RFI badge.
A part from football, we also enjoyed sharing meals and having good moments along the weekend when there was no matches. Because that is also part of RFI identity!!

Vasilije Lekić made his debut in the NPL for Hume City FC.
It's always a pleasure when we see that, after few years from being in our Development Program, a former RFI player is still developing his football career and achieving great successes like this one.
On last Friday, 18th of March, Vasilije Lekić made his debut in the NPL for Hume City FC. Vasilije was playing for RFI during the 2014 and 2015 seasons.
Congratulations Vas! We are proud of you, keep pushing with your hard working attitude. We look forward to see more successful moments in your football career!!

RFI at the Bulleen Cup
Great and long weekend at the Bulleen Cup!!
It's always a good sign when you see so many happy faces on a video.
They played great football and enjoyed on and off the pitch.
Incredible effort from all of the teams participating on the tournament. Well done!!
